I’ve never been in Bangkok, Thailand but after seeing this film… it makes me think otherwise.
Bangkok love story is about a forbidden love between an apparent victim and his offender. Mek is a notorious hitman in Bangkok who is always hired for dangerous types of cases but he only kills bad guys. He had to do this because he wanted to raise his family from poverty. When I is hired to kidnap IT, he discovered that he is one of the good guys and refused to kill him. This started with the feud between Mek and his notorious gang and tried to escape with IT. Unfortunately Mek was shot refused to be assisted by anyone. Out of gratitude, IT stayed and helped Mek recover. While cooling off, they form an oddly bond that soon turned into a forbidden love. IT was married a wonderful attractive lady but soon realized he is living in a lie. Mek being the bread winner refuse to accept this and avoided IT. With a bad combination of Love and Crime… will this two unlikely lovers end up being together?
Technical aspects of the film are superb… cinematography and shots were tastefully done…acting of the two central characters are good. Background sounds and songs are very entertaining and add value to the scenes. My comment is the about title “Bangkok Love Story”… why this title? Are all Bangkok love stories like this? Don’t get me wrong but I don’t think this is true. Just because Bangkok is the leading country for sex change operation permits that same sex is THE love story that we expect in Bangkok. The story is quite impressive but my main concern is that there were to much issue tackled in the movie that kinda diverts the central plot of the film like Mek’s brother (who may I say is more attractive of all) has an AIDS, rapped by his father and works as a male prostitute.
Here are some of the scenes in the film:

Here is a scene where IT attempts to kill himself just to be at peace with the crazy love he got into with Mek

Here is the scene where IT and Mek cruising in the city with a motorcycle
Here is a steamy hot kissing scene between Mek and IT after confronting their feelings… the only way to release it is to act on it. BTW this was done raining outside the city streets and ended up like the scene below.

Here is Mek’s brother… simply lonely and vulnerable with all the things happening in his life
Overall the movie is entertaining and somewhat a fresh breather from the typical gay movies I see in Philippine movies now a days. If you haven’t watched it, I strongly recommend it.
